March 16, 2023, Shamrocks, Etc.
It’s been a long time since I last wrote a blog. Today I received a text from a customer sharing a picture of what she made with some of my fabric. I decided to write on my blog because the gesture of sending me a note about what a customer made with fabric purchased from me is so heartwarming! I wish more would share their creations! Now I will share what I have been doing!
Lately, I have been busy creating beautiful quilts and mug rugs. I am currently working on two Fury-Blue Dragons quilts for a grandson and a friend. The Fury-Blue Dragons quilt kit is available for purchase on my website. It has proven to be a popular kit, and there’s a good reason for that! It is such a beautiful quilt, and it is not hard to construct and sew! I will add a picture of the Blue Dragons quilt when I finish hand sewing the binding.
I felt inspired to make shamrock and gnomes mug rugs in time for St. Patrick’s Day Each one is a unique creation. I drew my shamrock freehand, made a plastic template of my shamrock so that I wouldn’t have t continue freehand drawing it, and I use the template to cut out my shamrocks for applique on my mug rugs. I don’t have the Benartex Lucky Gnomes collections so I ordered yardage from online shops. I freehand quilt my mug rugs and enjoy using my Superior Rainbows or King Tut threads for quilting them. King Tut and Rainbows are variegated threads that are so much fun to work with! Because of freehand quilting, each mug rug becomes one-of-a-kind. See my new mug rugs on my website in the Mug Rug category where they are available for purchase!
I would like to encourage my customers to share pictures of their creations with me because it is so much fun to see what people do with their fabrics!
